Dear Parent/Carer

Dramatic Theatre in Education Company present ’No Harm Done?’  Friday 5th May 2017

TMWS is committed to educating young people about emotional wellbeing. We also know it is crucial to raise awareness of issues and ensure students know where to get help if they need it.

As part of teaching your child about emotional wellbeing, a theatre group called ‘Dramatic Theatre in Education Company’ will be performing a one hour play on Friday 5th May called No Harm done?

No Harm Done? Is a theatre in education play followed by an interactive talkback that aims to start conversations around mental health and emotional wellbeing. No Harm Done? follows two teenage school friends who share their experiences of self-harm. The story talks about feelings, self-care and how we might react when someone we care about self-harms.

Beverley based ‘Dramatic Theatre in Education Company’ has considerable experience in developing health related educational programmes. The play has been commissioned by and designed in consultation with the Public Health Service at East Riding of Yorkshire Council and has very clear links with the PSHE curriculum.

No Harm Done? Is supported by a collection of follow up talkback sessions and activities aimed at raising further awareness of issues surrounding self-harm.

This performance will be delivered to all students in Years 8 and 9 in one hour sessions.  If you do not want your child to participate, please email me at [email protected]

Yours sincerely
